daVinci autoconnect issues on a system with no router

I'm having some issues with daVinci connecting on a recent install. I've fixed the IP in the Audia as well as the Windows XP Dell machine and connected both to a simple switch. After rebooting the computer daVinci will not be able to detect the Audia box and will not connect. If I launch the Audia program and connect it finds the box just fine. Any attempt to connect daVinci after that works perfectly fine. I've also used a ping command with the same results (ie daVinci won't connect, ping the Audia and it works, daVinci then works).


Any ideas why this might be? Doesn't seem like a firewall issue since daVinci does connect after something else does first but I've disable the windows firewall and made sure the antivirus isn't blocking it.

Have you tried adjusting the startup delay setting in the Tools/options/autoconnect panel.

Dell do their own bios,etc., and maybe network connectivity is last on the list.

Give the PC time to boot everything, and then launch Davinci.

It seems that the nework interface card is not yet online when the davinci program starts.


had the same problem with an asus netbook, i solved the problem by creating a batch file that ping's the audia system first for a couple of times an the n starts davinci.

The batch file should do the trick. I've bypassed it so far by adding a ping batch to the computer start-up folder but that doesn't work everytime, depending on when the computer boot gets to the startup folder.

We do the same setup on almost all of our systems (no router, just a switch or XO cable)and I have had the same problem. It had to do with when the networking is initialized on the computer. I have solved it by adding a 30 sec connection delay in the Auto Connect menu. Problem solved. All of our systems reboot the computer at 6 am everyday and they all connect just fine now.
