Hi all,

I'm new and looking for help! Having a project where using AudiaFlex to trigger PTZ camera's presets (Samsung SPD-3000). i'm using boundary mic. with logic button trigger command string block to send command to camera for call the preset.

Having problem to call preset, this camera are supporting few type of protocols like Samsung S-Protocol and Pelco D/P-Protocol for example. They look like dun want 'talk' to each other (Biamp and Camera), is there any problem for the protocols? or are the any possibility about the conflict of protocol comparability between Biamp and Camera?

Please help and thanks if can share your experience.

First,

be sure your camera doing rs232, most of the camera using pelco d/p use rs422 or rs485 because they can be daisy chain.

to be sure, try to control the camera with your pc thru the rs232 port with software like hyperterminal.

if your camera cannot do rs232, there's some adapter who convert rs422,rs485 to rs232.

Hi Raphayo,

Thanks your feedback. The camera are supported rs232, rs422 and rs485 as well. The camera's manual didn't have any Pelco D/P protoco's command, so what kind of command i should send via HyperTerminal? If using hex, what format of command i should send from HyperTerminal?

oops, you need hex.

you can use dataviewer from Extron

or i have a free software at this link you could try

RS232 Hex Com Tool

for the command of your camera, i've search on the manufacturer website and find this.

SPD-S Protocol (2009)

to sent hex code with biamp, you need to type the string like this ~02 the ~ is the character who told to the biamp unit the next 2 character is for an hex command.

Thanks for helps, my problem has solved.

I would like to share my experience here about the Samsung S-Protocol, it is really not compatible with Biamp but i dun know why!

Everything become smoothly after switch all the protocol to Pelco D-Protocol. :D
