Default behavior with presets

I would like to start a discussion about the default behavior when creating presets. I am not having a go at anyone at biamp, just sharing the frustrations of 160 people who have done my training.

We all know the current behavoir, so I want to talk about what I think should happen.

1. When you click the new button, it should start a new preset with nothing in it. I am sure everyone clicks "Rem All" then puts back what they want.

2. The mute audio during recall check box should be unchecked by default, I still have not found an application when that behavior would be acceptable, especialy if I am using a preset to send out command strings

3. The bottom and side panes that pop in and out should now be a part of the main dialogue box, this would cut down on the confusion with the side pane.

My two cents

Scott

Scott,

I agree, but then again is that not most of what you had commented on back In January when you handheld that part of the training in Portland??

Great session by the way :) did they manage to get you more Dr. Pepper in AUS??

Hello!

I agree also:

@ 1 Well, I consider this minor, but YES, it would emphasize the fact, that our presets are so much more powerful than simple GLOBAL presets. So it is a small issue for the programmer but a missed chance from a marketing standpoint.

@2. Only thing which comes to mind ist when you switch delay times which could cause audible clicks. But for all other preset switches, YES, you are right.

@3. Call me offensive, but the only word I can find in english lingo (which is obviously not my native) is "STUBBORN" :-) These is one of the very few things which have been brought up countless times and everyone NOT working for Biamp agrees on as it seems, but so far no go.

My 2 Eurocents worth of wisdom.

Bye

Hi HST,

I seem to remember from old software that when you were allocating presets to a recall preset block, that it would automatically put that block in the center of your screen.

Your next pull down screen of which preset you wanted to assign would appear directly above it, and so shorten mouse movement required ( some of my systems have 800 presets )

I find myself getting RSI from tracking the boxes associated when assigning multiple presets and time consuming.

I would also like the assign preset list to ignore any presets without valid data, so that I do not have to delete them from the recall preset list ( in case I want to use them later).

My diminishing AU$ worth,

Garth

Hi Kris,

Thanks for the feedback mate. Yes I did comment, but still no change. I wonder if enough people talk about it on the forum, then things might change??

Hey Scott,

I hope enough people will give feed back as it would be nice to have those changes so programing presets could be more streamlined for everyone.

To Scott and Kris,

It appears that other BiAmp software users are too scared or appathetic to voice their opinions !

This is a forum and the perfect place to vet your frustration about how things are done.

Does anyone have a reason for keeping them as they are or are their only a dozen people that actually use this site?

Totally agree Scott, every time when I use presets I do not understand why we have to make so many clicks for the obvious...

Cheers
