I have installed daVinic on a mediasmart hp touch pc. i need the end user to schedule messages from the PC to be broadcasted through Cobranet using EXPI-EXPO combo. The odB from the PC is given to an EXPI on the same network. EXPO feed the 0dB to Amps installed in various places.

In 2005 Biamp launched Event Scheduler block for davinci. i am not able to locate the block.

Advice.

The event scheduler block is not available in daVinci, it's only available in Audia. How exactly to you plan to use the event scheduler. The event scheduler does nothing more than trigger a momentary logic pulse within the Audia. This logic pulse can be used to recall presets, output to something external such as a relay using a Logic Box, or otherwise trigger Audia logic functionality. The event scheduler will not trigger anything within the PC. From the sound of your posting it seems like perhaps you expect it to do so.

Please give us a description of the desired fucntionality and we'll try to help. Feel free to send email to support@biamp.com

Thanks.

Hi Saeedgse,

Definately as the previous reply mentioned, unfortunately it does not trigger anything internally.

I wanted to do something similar where the marketing people in a shopping centre (shopping mall) could load music into a CD player with serial control, and in Davinci change the schedule of what played when.

It is similar except I knew I had to use an external device. But the critical thing is that as mentioned, the scheduler cannot be used in a Davinci layout.

In our situation we set up a generic time schedule in the Audia software, based on their most anticipated requirements, told them how many audio files they could put on the CD and in what order.

this allowed them to maintain the frequency of certain messages and sell the time slots (and number of repeats) to the shop keepers.

I think the scheduler needs to be included in Davinci and would enhance existing systems and poosibly open things up to get more systems into different markets.

Hi Kiley

Do you know if there are any plans to include an Event Scheduler block in daVinci?

I have been tasked with setting up a system where they require users to set event times. I'd prefer not to let them into the Audia software.

Regards

Mark

I'm not aware of any immediate plans to include the event scheduler in daVinci. I could see where that would be useful though and will pass the word along!
