Like the T1-2 connected to an analogue handset, can the Audia Voip card be connected and controlled by a handset such as a Cisco 7945 Voip telephone?

No it can't. When using a TI-2 and analog telephone set, both are connected in parallel to the same phone line. VoIP dosn't work that way. With VoIP, both the VoIP-2 card and the Cisco phone are discrete end points (unique IP address, unique subscriber #.) Each communicates individually to the proxy server and they have no relation to one another.

You could use the external phone to establish a call and then transfer that call to the VoIP-2. The VoIP-2 could auto answer that call. You would not be able to end the call from the VoIP-2 or the Cisco phone in that case. The far end of the call would need to end the call and then the VoIP-2 would disconnect in response to that.

Otherwise you would need to use a third party controller or daVinci. Logic inputs could also be used to answer or end a call.
