Hi Chris

Take a Spin Control Block (see Icon "Edit-Spin Control" in the DaVinci Toolbar) and assign it to the Fader you want to control... that's it.

To Chris's,

I have used a few tablet PCs and Touch Panel PCs running DaVinci to control systems and prefer to use Logic States to Up/Down the volume controls.

It requires a little bit more programming, but enables you to customize the controls and make them easier to use.Spin controls are limited in what you can modify.

I have included the files of a test system using a Nexia SP,but it is the same for Audia.

I have included the level meter for the gain of the volume control as many clients prefer to see a visual indication of the gain rather than a number.

Hope this helps, Garth

Hi Gart

Another way of doing it, but what is the advantage? In the beginning it was not possible to use the Spin Control with a limited fader range (it went straight from -100 to 12dB) but it is now... as you have not implemented soemthing to control the increase / decrease rate / time I can not see the point. Could you please explain?

Cheers

Hi Chris,

Biamp have introduced a great control platform in DaVinci but there are still some drawbacks within the platform.

Some of the controls like the spin control, router select, can only be resized and colored in full.

If you are using tablets or touch PCs to run DaVinci, then you would like the actual up/down buttons to bigger so that clumsy bar staff can operate them easily.

When you are using a normal PC with a mouse,it is easy to set what volume you want on a slider or activate the up/down of a spin control.

When using a touch screen,it is easier to give them a big button for up and a big button for down for them to adjust volumes between serving drinks.

I was just offering an alternative for those programmers that have had this problem in the past and had not thought of using logic state buttons as a solution.

Cheers Garth.

Vader

Actually you can make the spin up-down buttons wider. In fact, they can be as wide as half the spin control itself. To change the width, resize the spin control to your desired size and then go to the property sheet and change the "Spin Width" parameter.

Should have been awake in class for that one.

Hi Claudio

This might be the perfect answer... I hope, Vader can save time in the future. Sometimes it does make sense to take Logic State Buttons in order to have a reliable and "Idiot-prove" Tochpanel Layout.

Cheers
